At last we have made the break from shoreside life, yesterday afternoon we left our mooring in the Town Basin and motored down to Kissing Point and anchored up for the night, not far, but the first step. Paul rowed in and caught up with his mate Womble, who lives on a yacht at Kissing Point. Then this morning we motored out to Urquaharts Bay, and anchored up deciding to have a rest day, after all the hustle and bustle of getting ready to go. It would have been a good day to sail up the coast today, but I was not feeling very well, so we opted for a day off.
While we have been here, there is a Stingray swimming around the bay with its "beak/nose" out of the water, swimming on the surface, it has been doing it all afternoon. I wonder if there is something wrong with it and it can not dive down to the bottom. A bit sad if that is the case.
Tomorrow we plan to sail up the coast, with our eventual destination being Mangonui perhaps.......lets see what happens.
