We left Opunga Bay on Thursday morning with the promise of a South Westerly or a Sea breeze, neither really eventuated. There was not really enough wind to sail at a good speed so we cheated and motored, then motorsailed up to Mahinepua Bay near the Cavalli Passage. The swell at the moment is so slight we have decided to call in at a few bays that you do not normally get to stop in because of the uncomfortable ground swell.
Mahinepua was a lovely bay with views over the Cavalli Islands, it was a wee bit rolly in the night but it was worth the stay, we hiked up to the top of a nearby hill on Friday morning and took some photos of the area, absolutely beautiful.
