Headliner revamp pt 3

We finished the headliner in the forward cabin last weekend. After much trial and tribulation, we are very pleased with the results. There are some irregularities in the finish, but that is to be expected with the slightly irregular surface it was being fixed too. We have also stuffed insulation up into the bulwark cavity, but in a way that we can remove it easily if required for maintenance. It has definitely made the forward berth look a lot brighter, and will be a heap warmer and drier.

We re-used some of the original teak slats for the teak trim covering the joins of the shower liner. It has made the whole thing fit better into the very wooden interior of our boat.

The weather over the last 3 weeks had been pretty grotty, we had a storm system come through one week with constant rain for 5 days, then we had a reasonable week last week, then last night we had some of the heaviest rain we have had for a long time, of course we were heading out to a dinner party so consequently got a wee bit wet. We took the squabs back down to Kabuki with the new slip covers on, they looked really good, I am very pleased with them. So now, I sort of have the spare room back, apart from the pile of sails in the corner. We have bought a new Battenless Main for Kabuki, we are now waiting for a fine weekend to try it on, fingers crossed for next weekend.
