Back Again

Summer is here, and we have chucked in our jobs for 3 months to escape on Kabuki. I finished work on Christmas eve, Paul had finished a few days before. We enjoyed a family orientated Christmas, then started preparations for our escape. But unfortunately my Mother passed away on the 28th of December. So the last week or so has been a hurley burley of family, tears, joy, pain, loss and gain. We are both ready to get away, and recuperate.
We left our mooring yesterday morning to take my Nephew Paul sailing. We went under the new lifting Bascule Bridge for the first time, pretty cool experience. But it was not  the best days sail, He enjoyed it though and we ironed out a few kinks in the systems. We came back to the Whangarei Cruising Club (our yacht club) and tied up to the jetty for the night. We will pass over the actually docking procedure, saying only that it had been a while since we had done it. We then set the alarm off in the clubhouse, when we were trying to have a shower (bunnies).
Today the wind has got up, so we are pleased that we decided to stay until Thursday morning when we hope to head to Leigh Harbour, down the coast near Cape Rodney.

Safely under the new bridge.
