Spring is with us at last.

Day light saving started a few weekends ago, and that is a sure sign that spring is here and summer is not far away. The oversea's boats are starting there trek back across the south- western Pacific to New Zealand to shelter from the impending Cyclone season. Whangarei is becoming a favoured spot for them to visit as there are haul-out facilities, moorings close to town and chandleries and supermarkets close to the marina and mooring fields.
We have enjoyed the delights of the Town Basin Marina since March, but we will be moving back to our mooring next week, as the prices go up for the summer season. I can row and climb now so will be able to get on and off Kabuki. We are both still working and counting down the days till we finish on Christmas Eve.
Paul and I have been tackling smaller tasks on Kabuki during the weekends, Paul completed the new Ratlines, they look really good, will hopefully attach a video. We have replaced the back-stay, got our new/second-hand Spade anchor re-galvanised, bought and installed a new Epirb, and a few other things that escape me at the minute. We are slowly getting Kabuki ready for a summer of sailing, apparently it will be a long dry summer this year, so we will no doubt have a drought and the Farmers will complain, even though they have predicted it 6 months out. Sounds like a great summer for sailing our lovely coast, the only problem will be getting water. So roll on summer, we can't wait.
