The beat goes on.....

Well we may be back on land but the care of Kabuki still goes on, over the last month or so we have reduced the size of our refrigerator and put more insulation in it, repainted the forward hatch, re-bedded the teak slats on the cockpit floor/engine access ie: filled in all the holes and glued the teak down instead of screws, applied waterproofing to the dodger, and as you can see below I have recovered out Saloon squabs. I have made all of these covers as slip covers, so they can be removed easily and washed. I think they came up a treat, even though the fabric is a bit naff with the nautical theme, I liked it. We are now considering insulating under and replacing the headliner up in the forward berth so it no longer gets really damp up there in winter. Will take photo's of the remodel and post as we go.
I am still unemployed and looking for work, but hey it gives me the opportunity to do things on the boat and at home. Poor old Paul is back at the mill, grinding away at the building dilemma's at NPM Construction. We are now looking forward again to our next expedition on Kabuki, but it will be a while before that happens. In the meantime we can work on her and dream.

  1. I really like the slip covers too. Not naff at all.

    1. Thanks Debbie, we still haven't put them on the boat though as now we are in the middle of another project, and it is chaos down there. Will be good to see them in place.
