Nearly there.

At last the hull has been finished, we are still on the hard stand doing the finishing touches to the refit. We have varnished the caprails and rubbing strake, I have sanded the rest of the teak but can not paint at the moment as the boat next door is being ground (loads of dust). I have nearly finished polishing the topsides of the hull, and it looks good. We have had the wind generator connected up, and it is doing its thing. The Mechanic comes tomorrow to re-commission the engine for us, ready for the re-float next Monday hopefully.
We have also been doing some rigging changes and renewals. We have taken our furling staysail off, replaced the wire stay and we are getting a hanked on sail made. We have also re-placed the Head-stay inside the Yankee furler. For my non-sailing followers these two sails are the ones at the front of the boat
We are moving on to Kabuki on Saturday the 28th with all of our claggage and baggage. I am really looking forward to our next chapter in life, our Tenant moves in on the 8th of March, so we have a week to get things organised at the house for him.

  1. Kabuki looks sharp! Glad to hear the projects are wrapping up and you're moving aboard. Please keep us posted on your cruising plans, love to hear about the anchorages around NZ. We're getting ready to depart the Pacific NW this summer. Maybe one of these days we'll have a chance to meet somewhere in the SP. Cheers! Diane and John
